Abigail L. Lemley has been working in the funeral industry for almost 20 years. She is the 9th generation of her family to be born and raised in Robertson County, which makes her a proud member of the community.
Experiencing the loss of two important people in her life, her grandfather in 1999 and a classmate during high school, Abigail felt a call to serve in a very special area of work. As a senior in high school, she volunteered at a local funeral home to gain experience. After graduating from East Robertson High School in 2005, Abigail immediately enrolled in John A. Gupton College in Nashville where she graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science. During her training, she worked for Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville and White House.
Abigail currently resides in Cross Plains with her dog Ridley. She is a member of Grace Baptist Church and a dedicated supporter of the community.
Abigail joined Family Legacy in September 2014, when they broke ground for the new funeral home in Springfield. In July 2017, she was promoted to General Manager of Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home, and Cremation Center followed by Joelton Hill Memory Gardens in 2022.
Abigail enjoys being able to live, work, and volunteer in her hometown. “My goal is to serve each family with dignity, and compassion and to help them tell the story of their loved one. I want families to understand it’s ok to laugh and cry during this time. We can mourn our loss and remember good times. My job is to celebrate life and help their loved ones plan a meaningful service that they will remember forever.”

He graduated from Mid America College of Funeral Service in 2011 and joined Cole and Garrett in 2023.

In 2014, Tommy Austin was hired as the Director of Community Relations for the newly formed Springfield Funeral Home team. If you knew Tommy, it was the perfect job for him. His day often started with coffee at Hardee’s followed by breakfast at Larry’s. He would then hang out at the Dixie Maid for a while and end his rounds by seeing his buddies at VFW Post 2120. The funeral home broke ground in November of 2014 and opened to serve families seven months later. Tommy was thrilled to see Springfield Funeral Home come together and flourish.
In the summer of 2016, Tommy championed the idea of hosting “The Moving Wall” at Springfield Memorial Gardens because he knew what it would mean to our Vietnam Veterans and our community. Through the years Tommy has always been a helping hand and friend to so many. Even though he stepped back from a full-time role in 2019, he continued to serve as a resource to those in the funeral industry and the community which he loved.
