Woodrow Stein, Jr.

Woodrow Forrest Stein, Jr., age 61, of Hendersonville passed away September 17, 2008. Mr. Stein served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He was a past master of the Hendersonville Masonic Lodge # 359 and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was retired from Red Kap Industries and a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a volunteer at Hendersonville Medical Center and enjoyed racing Lightning Sailboats in Regatta's and was a member of the Tsuru Japan Hendersonville Friendship Committee. Mr. Stein is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow F. Stein Sr. and Isabelle P. Parker; and brother Proctor Hoskins. He is survived by his wife, Sue Stein; sons, Jayson Karey Stein of Raleigh, NC, Marc Yuka Iwata Stein of Nashville, TN, and David Heather Stein of Franklinton, NC; grandchildren, Summer Stein, Saun Stein and Kaleb Stein. A memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the West End United Methodist Church with Rev. Margie Howell and Rev. Ann Cover officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday September 20 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., at Hendersonville Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7 P.M. The family will also receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday in Reed Hall at West End United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, West End United Methodist Church or the Kidney Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
