William Rainey

RAINEY, William Sterlin, age 82, of Fairview, was born September 17, 1926 in Williamson County and passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Baptist Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville.

Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by a son, Charles Baxter Rainey; brother, W.L. Rainey; and sisters, Nellie Daugherty, Eula Thompson, Gertrude Pewitt, Gladys Rainey, and Verla Sullivan.

He is survived by his son, Ken M. Rainey of Fairview ; grandsons, Mitch and Keith Rainey, both of Fairview ; granddaughter, Tara Stout Bill of Bon Aqua; brother, Paul Rainey Mary of Mt. Juliet; sisters, Dorothy Marlin of Nashville, Julia Hamlett Jim of Brentwood, and Pearlene Pendergrass Chester of Bon Aqua; sister-in-law, Mildred Rainey of Primm Springs; and several nieces and nephews and many other special friends.

The family will receive friends from 10am-2pm Wednesday at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens .
