William "Bill" Myron Greer-age 86 was born July 2, 1927 and passed away April 8, 2014. Bill served in the Navy during WWII. After his time in the service he went to work for the Western Electric Division of AT&T as a supervisor, retiring after 37 years. He was a man of faith and attended the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church for more than 27 years. Bill was an avid golfer and travelled all over the country with his friends to play. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed. He leaves behind many loved ones, both family and friends, with great memories.
Preceded in death by mother, Jessie Edna Greer; Father, Sam Greer; 1st wife, Frances Smith Greer; Son, Charlie Greer; 2nd wife, Robbie Foster Greer; step-daughter Melody Alexander; Sister, Martha House; Brother-Richard Greer. Thankful for the many wonderful years they had together - Bill will be missed by Son, David (Cyndi) Greer; Daughter, Dianne (Alex) Teague; Step-Daughter, Joy (Dwight) Dixon; Step-Son-In-Law, Ed Alexander. Grandchildren: Caitlin Greer, Olivia Teague and Austin Teague; Step-Grandchildren: Brynn (Matt)Curtis, Drew (Gina) Dixon, Cass Dixon, Will Alexander and Mitch Alexander; and two step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Gary Pride, Jimmy Gilbert, Dwight Dixon and Chip Holder.
Honorary Pallbearers: Fig Newton, Bob Foster and Jimmy Edwards.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday at 1p.m in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home.
