Virginia Smith

SMITH, Virginia N. passed away peacefully at age 101 in Nashville, TN at The Meadows. She leaves behind her 2 sons, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Born in West Tennessee, she graduated from Athens College and taught school there. After she married and moved to the Nashville area, she got her Masters Degree at George Peabody College. She became a lifelong member of Cavalry Methodist Church and an active member of the Browning Society at Vanderbilt based on her lifelong interest in Browning's poetry. After her two sons graduated from Vanderbilt and Harvard, respectively, she took up genealogy and dancing. After researching her family heritage, she wrote a book "Kelso Kin" on that subject before moving to various retirement quarters in her 90's.
