Ted Steven Howse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Springfield, Tennessee. Born on June 21, 1952, in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Ted's journey through life was marked by his passion for music and a devotion to his family.

A gifted banjo player, Ted garnered recognition throughout the bluegrass community, winning a remarkable 75 different bluegrass competitions over the years. His love for music was more than just a career; it was a reflection of his vibrant spirit and a way to connect with others. Ted's personality shone brightly as he was known to be kind, loving, and a steadfast provider for his family.

Beyond music, Ted enjoyed various hobbies, including wood carving and collecting pocket knives, playing checkers and enjoying nature. He cherished the time spent with family more than anything and took pride in the moments that brought everyone together.

Ted is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Vicki Howse, and his loving children, Rhonda Howse Duffer and her husband Troy, and Brian Howse. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Hannah Duffer Thomas and her husband Joel, and Haley Duffer, along with his great-grandson, Garrett Thomas. Ted's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. Howse and Ruth Howse.

A private graveside service celebrating Ted's remarkable life was held on March 13, 2025. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed greatly.
