Sandra Kay Jackson Venable, age 58 of Hendersonville, passed away September 23, 2010. Mrs. Venable impacted many children's lives and was adored by her students. She spent many years serving as a teacher at Tennessee State University and in Sumner County, working at Portland Elementary, Nannie Berry Elementary and Indian Lake Elementary. She enjoyed educating all ages but loved being a kindergarten teacher. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Jackson; mother-in-law, Martha Scott; sister-in-law, Janice Venable McCann and brother-in-law, Glenn Venable. She is survived by her husband, Michael Venable; daughters, Carrie Venable Jason Winters; Katie Venable and Cassie Venable; the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Jaxon Winters and Kennedy Winters; father, Doan Jackson; brother, Alan Jackie Jackson; sister-in-law, Beth Coons; brothers-in-law, Earl Coons and Larry McCann; and a host of nieces and nephews; Ryan and Kris Jackson, Brian Laura Coons, Stacy Coons Chad Muth, Matthew Amber McCann, Rhonda Randy West and Randy Rene Mungovan. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. on Monday, September 27, 2010, from the Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Tanner and Rev. Brady Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Jason Winters, Howard France, Matthew McCann, Randy West, Randy Mungovan and Chad Muth serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Coons and Ryan and Kris Jackson. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 26 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. Monday, September 27 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Indian Lake Elementary School Library, 505 Indian Lake Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
