Sandra D. Adkins age 51 of Joelton passed away on December 16, 2017 at Skyline Medical Center.

She was born on June 3, 1966 to the late Sheila Rainey in Gainesville, Georgia. She was described as a strong, independent and kind-hearted person. She would give you her last dime, just to make sure everyone was taken care of. Her children talked about all the times she was there pushing them and helping them through hard times and giving encouragement and advice when they needed it the most.

Sandra D. loved watching the latest ID Investigation curled up on the couch with some Puffcorn and a Diet Dr. Pepper, coloring with her grandchildren, crafts, and scrapbooking. You could find her on the 1st Saturday of the month finding deals at Goodwill. Traveling was her passion; she loved the time she went to D.C. with Sheila and taking a Cruise.

She will forever be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother and Granny

Sandra D. is survived by her children, Sheila (Stephen) Kirby, Shannon Adkins, Donnie Adkins, Jr. and Shawna Adkins; grandchildren, Christa, Jordan, Jayla, Bryce, Bladen, Kaylee and Drake; sister, Sonja (Michael) Hambrick; great-granddaughter, Leigh-Ann.

A Life Celebration will be held on December 23rd at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 until the time of service.
