Richard Gibson

GIBSON, Richard "Buddy" age 70, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2009. Preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Pearl Gibson. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Wanda Cunningham Gibson; sons, Richard Jr. Christine Gibson and Casey Dena Gibson; daughter, Tammy Tim Perryman Britt; grandchildren, Robin, Alyssa, Kelsie, Andie and Alexis; sisters, Louise Jack Trail, Barbara Engelman, Joyce John Medley and Alma Carroll Hyten. Buddy served in the US Navy. He was a former coach for Donelson Little League, Don Wade Football, Lincoya Hills Church basketball and Civitan girls softball. He was in the food business for many years before becoming a Court Officer with Metro Court System. He served under Judges Sterling Gray, Walter Kurtz and Seth Norman before retiring in 2002. He was a loving husband and father and was loved and respected by all who truly knew him. Services will be held at the West Harpeth Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11 am.
