Rev. Grass

GRASS, Rev. John Lincoln-Age 88 passed away on February 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Y. Grass. He is survived by children, Brenda Grass Nash Thomas E. Nash, Jr., Larry Grass Sallie D., Dennis Carlton Grass Angela M. and by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rev. Grass followed a personal call to the Gospel ministry in 1953. He was the first male to ever graduate from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduation from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Rev. Grass pastored churches in both Virginia and North Carolina, holding leadership roles in many Baptist organizations until he retired and moved to Nashville with his wife in 1986. His life was one of serving and ministering to others. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Winfield presiding. He will be assisted by the children of Rev. Grass. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
