EGLI, Paul Arthur age 54, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Egli; children, Jon-Thomas Egli, Emma Egli, Katie Egli, Erin Dolezal; mother, Grace Egli; brothers, Richard Egli, John Egli; sisters, Cathy Miller, Jeanine Schromen. Paul grew up in Maquoketa, Iowa, graduated from Maquoketa High School, played in the band and attended First Baptist Church. A 30-year veteran, Paul followed in his father's footsteps into a military career, first enlisting in the Navy, then later in the Army as an Officer in the Military Police Corps. He held a variety of positions in the Reserves as well as on Active Duty to include overseas. His most memorable jobs included command, Bn S3 and mentoring ROTC cadets. He deployed twice, first in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm and most recently to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Last assigned to HHC, 1st BDE, 3ID, Ft Stewart, GA, Paul was to retire and return to teach ROTC at Middle Tennessee State University. Paul served proudly on the Franklin TN Police Department for 10 years where he was a K-9 officer with his partner Kahn. Winning awards at the National level, they were also recognized by the FBI for assisting in the capture of six escapees from Alabama. His greatest love and passion was being a devoted husband and a loving father. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Saturday September 11th at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial to follow with full military honors at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday September 10th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to any of the following charities that meant a lot to Paul: Seeing Eye Dog Organization; The American Heart Association; St Jude Children's Hospital.
