Patricia Ann Barnes, age 83 of Greenbrier, passed away on December 18, 2021 in Roswell, GA at the Harris Senior Living Center.
She was born on October 10, 1938 the second eldest of 6 children. She grew up on the family farm in Kentucky where she helped feed the cows and work the fields. When she turned 18, she moved to Nashville. She was blessed with two daughters and would later begin a 22 year career at the Baptist Sunday School Board (later named Lifeway) as an order filler and soon worked her way up to management. Pat was a dedicated and faithful employee where she even earned the Life Time Achievement Award for her hard work through the years. She eventually retired from Lifeway on June 1, 2002.
Pat loved her family and her Lord and Savior. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenbrier, where she served as Preschool teacher for more than 20 years. Missions was very dear to Pat and she was able to go to Venezuela with a medical team in 1996. She loved to share the gospel and invite others to church whenever she could. She also began the Daily Bread Ministry. Daily Bread provided meals to seniors that were shut-ins. Pat would spend much of her time visiting the shut-ins and would rarely ever come to visit without making her famous Cranberry Salad and sausage balls. When Pat wasn’t involved with church, she was spending time with her daughters shopping, eating at Rafferty’s or watching Kentucky basketball.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Joe William and Catherine Hendricks, her brother, Henry Hendricks and her son in-law, Scott Adams.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (SL) Searcy and Kim Adams; grandchildren, Kristin Adams, Kelsey Adams, JJ Adams, Nicole Bryant, Jeff (Amanda) Crabtree, Jessica Crabtree and Victoria (Austin) Covington; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and siblings, Joe Wayne (Cathie) Hendricks, David Hendricks, Glen (Melinda) Hendricks and Gary (Teresa) Hendricks and a host of nieces and nephews.
