Nell P. Ratliff, age 85 of Cedar Hill passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at NHC in Springfield.
She was born Hazel Nell Pack on August 6, 1936, in Smithville, Tennessee to the late Willie Matthew and Flonnie Pack. Nell met her future husband, Herbert W. Ratliff while he was stationed at Stewart Air Force Base in Tennessee. They married in 1956 and were blessed with their son Doyle. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper for her husband's plumbing business “Reasonable Plumbing Company” in Madison. Nell was an active member of the Adams FCE Club.
Nell was a talented seamstress and made the most gorgeous quilts all stitched by hand. Each quilt was a masterpiece that she would enter the Robertson County Fair where she won numerous ribbons over the years. Nell loved growing flowers and taking care of the yard.
In addition to her parents, Nell is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Ratliff.
Nell is survived by her son, Doyle (Debbie) Ratliff; grandchildren, Jennifer (Cory) Harris and Jeremy (April) Ratliff; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Miller, Brooklyn Ratliff, Rachel Slayton, Abigail Slayton, and Eli Slayton, Colt Harris and Brice Harris
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
