Michelle Denise Phillips went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
She was born on August 9, 1971 in Nashville, Tennessee and was a 1989 graduate of Springfield High School.
Michelle was described as a loving and dependable person. Her vibrant and humorous personality brought sunshine to everyone that was around her. She was thoughtful and loved cooking for her friends and family. She never met a stranger and within an afternoon those new friends became family for life. Michelle loved everyone and would forgive quicker than you could forgive yourself. Her life became complete when she became a mother to a beautiful little girl name Delaney Rose in 2011.
In 2013, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. While most people would give up, Michelle decided she was going to be a survivor she was going to live. She continued raising her daughter, working full time and taking treatments. She is the inspiration to so many, to live every day to the fullest and to do what makes you happy. She and Delaney continued shopping together, going to movies, playing with their dog, Sophie and playing at the park. Some days she would be tired but the next morning she would wake up feeling good and would run 100% of the time making memories with Delaney. Just last year Michelle planned a trip of a lifetime, to the beach. It was the first time Delaney had ever been and they had a wonderful time. She lived life hard making sure every day counted. She wanted to be an example for her daughter, to never give up, to fight for what you want.
Michelle will forever be remembered as a wonderful mom, sister and friend but most of all as a ray of sunshine that showed us how to really live.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bertha Phillips and birth mother, Esther Little.
Michelle is survived by her beloved daughter, Delaney Rose Phillip-Malugen; sisters, Marion Lynn Reese and Cynthia (Jason) Fogg of Spring Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends.
A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 17th from 6-7pm with a reception from 7-8pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Beauty for Ashes at www.beautyforashesahealingplace.org
