GITTENS, Michael Akinde Nathaniel was born in the island of Trinidad and Tobago on September 6, 1996. He migrated with his family to the US in 2000. Michael was called home on August 27, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Sterling Sr. and Debra Gittens; his grandparents, Ruth Gittens, Doris Moses, David and Ann Miller; his six siblings, Sterling Jr., William "Billy," Yanikka, Kinda, Tyra, and Nsia; his uncles and aunts, Ernest Gittens, Reynold, Avalon, and Noel Moses, Winston, Dereck, Kevin, Kelly, June, Carol, and Jacqueline Matthews and a multitude of beloved relatives and friends. Michael was an angel sent by God 13 years ago to teach us how to love unconditionally. Though he will be missed we are assured that his mission was accomplished. He is receiving his wings and smiling upon us all. His memories will always be with us. The funeral of the late Michael Akinde Gittens takes place at the Ray of Hope Community Church, 901 Meridian St. Nashville, TN 37207 at 5pm on Sunday, August 30, 2009. Viewing will begin at 4pm. On Monday, August 31, 2009 there will be a private burial with family and close friends. If there are any questions please contact the church at 615 227-4110.
