Marilyn Sue Curtis, a dedicated homemaker who lovingly raised four daughters, passed away on August 10, 2024. She was known for her remarkable creativity, with a passion for crocheting, baking, and sewing.
Born on October 15, 1942, graduated from Tennessee Temple University, where she cultivated her skills in nurturing and caring for her loved ones. Throughout her life, Marilyn's primary focus was her family. She devoted time to creating unforgettable memories for her daughters, such as making cinnamon bites and crocheting blankets for them and her cherished grandchildren.
Marilyn's warm and loving personality shone through in everything she did. She was described as graceful, stubborn, strong, caring, and giving by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her proudest accomplishments revolved around her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored and supported in all their endeavors.
Marilyn was a beacon of love and strength for her family. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Curtis) Hollembeak, Kimberly (Seth) Waggoner, Melodie Adair, and Amy (Dan) Halleck; her grandchildren, Caleb, Joseph, Hannah, Brandon, Seth, Priscilla, Victoria, Jeremy, Jon, Lexi, Micaiah, Ashley, Brittanie, and Catie; as well as her four great-grandchildren, Finn, Shiloh, Jay, and Theo. Their lives have been forever enriched by her unwavering love and guidance.
In the quiet moments of reflection, Marilyn's family remembers her as the heart of their home, a source of comfort, and a wellspring of unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services to honor and remember Marilyn Sue Curtis will be held on August 17, 2024, at the Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Springfield, Tennessee. A visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The burial will be held at 2:00 PM. All who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman.
Marilyn is now reunited with her beloved husband, Fay Curtis, her parents, Oscar and Katherine Stanfield, and her siblings, Oscar, Robert, Lillie, and Donnie. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy of love and compassion lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
