Lydia Grace Hernández was born into the arms of Jesus on July 20, 2022. She was the beloved daughter of Hannah (née Palmer) and Jaime Hernández of Springfield, Tennessee, and the little sister of Clayton, Stephen, Christian, and Brandon. Her brothers eagerly prayed for a sister, and her life was an answer to their prayers and the prayers of many others.
Along with her parents and her brothers, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Beth Palmer, and her paternal grandparents, Roberto and Dominga Hernández. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her surviving maternal aunts and uncles are Matthew (Stacie) Palmer, Deborah (César) Silvano, Joseph (Danielle) Palmer, Philip (Kristen) Palmer, Sarah (Justin) Lamb, Esther Palmer, Rebekah Palmer, and Timothy Palmer. Her surviving paternal aunts and uncles are Margarita (Leopoldo Cuevos) Hernández, Maria Elena (Juan Pérez) Hernández, Roberto (Carmen Garcia) Hernández, Fernando (Rosa Juarez) Hernández, David Hernández, and Lizbeth Hernández. Her surviving maternal cousins are Benjamin Palmer, Alyssa Palmer, Joshua Palmer, Madelyn Palmer, Ian Silvano, Ivanca Silvano, Ezekiel Palmer, Isaiah Palmer, Janelle Palmer, Theodore Palmer, Brielle Palmer, and Mariah Martin. Her surviving paternal cousins are Ana Rosa Cuevos, Ramón Cuevos, Gisela Cuevos, Juan Javier Pérez, Roberto Hernández, Arnold Hernández, and Samuel Hernández.
She is preceded in death by her cousin Tirzah Palmer, as well as by her great-grandparents, Earl and Dorothe Bachert, Charles and Lorene Palmer, Faustino Hernández and Carmela Ramírez, and Demetrio Hernández and Juventina Zavala.
In honor of the grace of God displayed in giving us Lydia, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at three-thirty in the afternoon, with visitation beginning at three o’clock. The service will be at South Haven Baptist Church, 116 Academy Drive, Springfield, TN, with Pastor Frank Gagliano presiding. Interment will take place at Springfield Memorial Gardens on Monday, July 25, 2022, at ten o’clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lydia’s Closet, an initiative created to honor her life by serving others.
