It is with great sadness that we inform our friends and family that Winston’s mother, Linda Sue Thomas, joined the love of her life this morning after numerous aliments. While her passing was sudden, we are thankful that her suffering was limited and she passed away at a home of love.
Born on 10/14/1950 in Sandersville GA, to parents Katherine Deane Rainey and Laurence William Patterson, she was the last living sibling, Andrew Jack (Sonny) Dickerson & Mary Ann (Annie) Herring. She married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Dee Thomas, on 11/20/1968 and was happily married for 45 years until his passing on 7/23/2013. They are now together again, after 10 years of being apart. Linda was born into and lived a life in the carnival business. She knew life on the road, filled with good times and hard times, but had strong roots in Tennessee.
She loved her family and all of her dogs (Suzie Q, Star, Shelly, TC, Dakota, Gimli, and especially Dozer). Known only as “Grandma”, Dozer was her companion right till the end. She never missed an episode of WWE or a dinner glass of wine. She leaves behind her only son, Richard Winston Thomas, and her daughter in law, Theresa Currier Thomas.
We now focus on the thought of her being pain free and watching from above. The thought of her together with Richard gives us great joy. We are thankful for all of the love and prayers received from our family and friends. Final arrangements will be updated soon.
The family will gather on Monday, October 23rd from 3:30-5:00pm at Springfield Funeral Home to honor Ms. Linda's life.
