Lela Williams Christmas, age 78 of Springfield, passed away on November 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Christmas was born on May 27, 1941 to the late Fred and Lois Williams in Lunenburg, Arkansas. She was described as a loving and courageous woman that made friends easily and made them for life. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time at her Uncle Eudale farm, where she learned family values that she passed on to her children. She enjoyed being outside whether it was playing softball, gardening in her yard or participating in 5K walks.
Ms. Christmas was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman with a spirituality that was second to none. Mrs. Christmas loved spreading the word of Jesus Christ, praying for those that needed guidance and participating when needed at church.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Christmas is preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie Williams, Jim Williams and Paul Williams.
She is survived by her loving children, Timothy Christmas and Holly (Rob) McKee; grandchildren, Andrew Weaks and Joseph (Brooke) Marino; great-grandson, Jasper Marino; siblings, Bill (Sonya) Williams, Phillip (Skip Judy) Williams and Esther Bass and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 1pm with Pastor Frank Gagliano officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Christmas, Rob McKee, Andrew Weaks, Joseph Marino, Phillip Williams and Fred Williams serving as pallbearers and Bill Willams and Jasper Marino serving as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
