Joseph Edward Maddox

Joseph Edward “Eddie” Maddox, 77 of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, January 13th, 2022. Born June 19,1944 in Madison, TN, Eddie was the son of the late Roy Maddox and Mary Frances Mangrum Maddox. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sophie Linda Frazier. He was raised on a dairy farm and later owned and operated one prior to working at other vocations. His love of dairy farming stayed with him throughout his life and he always considered himself a farmer. He loved all animals whether they were dogs, goats or the cows he had named and could identify when farming. Eddie loved being outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and building things. He could fix or build just about anything. In addition to farming he had worked in construction and for some 30 years he was employed by Davenport & Associates. He was also a die-hard Ford Truck man. He loved his family and delighted in his grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita (Lassiter) Maddox; his children, Vanita Maddox Stringer, and Eddie Dwayne Maddox (Tina); his grandchildren, Megan Walker (Jake), Sheldon Stringer (Ali), Codi Maddox (Suzanne), and Jason Maddox (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Chloe Maddox, Emmalyn Walker, Josie Walker, and Ayden Stringer; his sister, Katie Jean Modeland; and his beloved dog, Scooter. A private family service with entombment at Springfield Memorial Gardens was held on Thursday, January 20th, 2022.
