WALLACE, Joseph Norris "Joe"- Born on Easter Sunday, April 1924 and died peacefully at home with family by his side Sunday, September 16, 2012. Joe was an ordained deacon and faithful member of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church for many years. Retired after 25 years as a public health administrator for the US-CDC. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Joe had an infectious smile that he loved to share. He took great joy in being able to share what he grew from his garden. His greatest joys were family, friends, faith, music and gardening. The family would like to thank everyone at Alive Hospice. He is preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sue Wallace; brothers, Rev. Perry S. Wallace and Rev. Ray E. Wallace; children, Nadene Wallace Richardson, Carl Wallace Heidi and Mike Wallace Linda; 7 loving grandchildren; 1 grandson-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews with children and grandchildren of their own. A life celebration service will be at 12pm on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Harpeth Heights Baptist Church, Alive Hospice, or just give someone a big smile in his honor.
