John Ambrose Patton

January 14, 1951 — December 29, 2024

Antioch, TN

John Ambrose "Bruce" Patton, born on January 14, 1951, in Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in his beloved city. A compassionate and dedicated individual, John served as a paramedic for Metro Nashville for thirty remarkable years, exemplifying commitment to the well-being of others in his community. Following his retirement from the Metro, he transitioned to a new role, driving a school bus for the Robertson County School System, where he continued to make a positive impact on the lives of children.

John was a proud graduate of East High School, and his education laid the foundation for a life filled with service, laughter, and joy. Known for his kind and loving nature, he was often described as the life of the party. His infectious sense of humor and joyful spirit made every gathering memorable, and he had a natural ability to bring happiness to those around him. John was truly a thrilling personality, a jokester at heart who found delight in the simplest of moments.

Throughout his life, John cherished his time spent with family and friends. He created cherished memories hanging out with his loved ones, particularly with his son Cody. Their adventures included driving Cody and his friends around, which brought immense joy to both John and the youths who relished the experiences. One of the standout moments in John’s life was his 60th birthday celebration, an unforgettable event celebrated in the basement adorned with strobe lights and lively dancing. This gathering encapsulated his penchant for fun and his zest for life.

In addition to his work and cherished memories, John had a passion for watching television, with a particular fondness for shows like Law & Order and Bones. His taste extended to some of the more underrated and 'terrible' TV shows and movies, reflecting his ability to find humor and enjoyment in the unexpected.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Manda Kerley Patton and sister, Linda Patton Wolf.

He is survived by his son, Cody (Emily) Patton and bonus kids, Tyler Jordan Hester and Brittany Morgan Hester; grandpup, Gronk and Sister Norma Patton Cash.
