On April 12, 2016 Tuesday Evening at 4:45pm God's appointed soldier laid down his shield of faith. "Don't worry about me this is only a bump in the road I've finished my mission call, I'm ready, steady. I'll be alright."
Reared in Springfield, Joe affectionately referred as "Poochie--Joe Tex" third born child of Joe Wilber Jamison Sr. and Julia Benton Jamison Cobbs born Sept. 11, 1956, received a formal education from Robertson County Schools, Springfield High School graduate Class of 1974.
Professing a hope in Christ at a young age attended Leota Street Church of God, First Missionary Baptist Church, finally becoming a dedicated hard working member of Beards Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Randy Taylor. He enjoyed uplifting the cause of Christ Singing, acting, teaching, financial support, home visitations, passing out literature, ministering to the needs of others, nursing home ministry, and using his excellent skills maintaining the church's dining room floors with a smile always spreading encouraging words. Always being a jovial, loving, kindhearted, considerate person that would give you the shirt off his back anything he could do to make sure you were alright.
He is preced in death by his parents, stepfather, Robert Cobbs, grandson Xavine Bailey, and nephew, Joseph Jamison, Jr.
He leaves to morn his son, Marcus (Yetta) Brewer, daughters, Yamela (Jeramie) Daniel of Memphis, TN, and Shane' Bailey, of Franklin, KY; 11 grandchildren, Paris (Rezon) Zyyon, II of San Diego, CA, Alzazion Payne of Franklin, KY, Zy'Kira Walker, DeMarcus, DeAndre, Sa'maree Brewer, Navion and Damarious Suggs, Nyle, Avante, and Savion Bailey, Franklin, KY; 6 siblings, Joseph Jamison, Freida (Daryel) McGarnett of Athens, GA, Janet (Tommy) Coleman, Jeffery (Samantha) Jamison, Joel Andra (Rita) Hailey of Guthrie, KY and Christopher (Nicole) Jamison of Shreveport, LA, 3 aunts and uncles, Ella Mai Stone of Chicago, IL, (devoted aunt) Linda (Bill) Jennings, Leroy Hill of Fayetteville, NC, Donnie Benton of Nashville, TN, and Pastor Melvin Chatman; 15 nieces and nephews, FaTisha and Daryel McGarnett, TeSheba and Curtis Jamison, Jamilla and Jenique Jamison, Jermey, ChrisRhon, CuRhon and Brandon Jamison, Tedrick Demumbreum, Tia and Julian Jamison, Jovanne and Joseus Hailey; 17 great nieces and nephews, Arlontra, Raven, Faith (Logan), Jareia, JaQuaya, Dindra, Anastasia, Imani, Ja'Mya, Monica, Janiah, Ja'Marria, Jacie, Jah'Mirrah, Ja'Marion, LaKobe, Brasnin and Jayden, 1 great-great nephew Quatavious. A host of cousins ( from TN, IL, MI, NC, KY, MN, GA, WI,VA, NV, OH and TX), friends, and Special cousins Mable Clarke, Melvina Ely, Carl Chatman, Mai Helen and Biffie Jones.
Even through your illness you were a fighter determined to finish your course witnessing to so many sharing your themed banner: "I'M JUST A NOBODY TRYING TO TELL EVERYBODY ABOUT SOMEBODY WHO CAN SAVE ANYBODY"

A Life Celebration will be held on Sunday, April 17th at 2pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service.
The family of Joe Jamison, Jr. would like to acknowledge with genuine appreciation your comforting expressions, calls, visits, flowers, cards, and gifts shown to them during the passing of their loved one. A special thanks to his devoted nephew Curtis Jamison, NorthCrest Medical Center Staff, Vanderbilt Cancer Center, Stallworth Rehab and NHC for all the care you showed Mr. Jamison these last few months.
