Jerry Wayne Duckett Sr., age 76 of Pleasant View, passed away on March 31, 2022 at NHC in Springfield.
He was born on March 22,1946 to the late Roy Frank and Ruth Edna Duckett in Waynesville, North Carolina.
Mr. Jerry joined the United States Navy after graduating from High School. He spent from 1965 until 1968 serving his country proudly. After coming home Jerry began a career as a long distance Tractor Trailer driver running from Tennessee to California in three days’ time. It wasn’t long until it was a family business his son Jerry, Jr. joined him for many years as partners making the run together.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a good builder with good hands and was very mechanical inclined and could fix anything. Jerry loved to keep up with current affairs.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Duckett; daughter, Susan Duckett and granddaughter, Sherry Harrison.
He is survived by his son Jerry Wayne (Carol) Duckett, Jr.; grandchildren, Heather Duckett, Alexander Duckett, Ann Harrison and Stephan Duckett; great-grandchildren, Chris Dunning, James Whitaker, Joseph Whitaker and Jacob Whitaker; sister, Linda Lawing and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Military Graveside Service will be held at 1pm on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Nashville National Cemetery. Online condolences and floral tributes can be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
