Jean Whitehead Stewart, age 84 of Springfield passed away on January 10, 2019 at the Waters of Robertson.

She was born Anna Jean Whitehead on February 27, 1934 to the late Carson and Eliza Whitehead in Butler, TN. She graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1952 and married Gerald T. Stewart in 1954. They were blessed with two daughters. Mrs. Stewart was a member the last 15 years at First Baptist Church of Joelton. Her joy in life was caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flower garden.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald T. Stewart and brother, Bob Whitehead.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Barry) Head and Johanna (Mac) McNair; grandchildren, Brent (Brooke) Duffer, Holly (Jeff) Wright, Jeb Davis, Sonya (Jeff) Nance and Conner (Alex) Veasey; great-grandchildren, Hanna Wright, Ashlyn Wright, Bryson Duffer, Brock Duffer, Raleigh Wright and Aubrey Wright; and siblings Paul (Jean) Whitehead, Bud (Betty) Whitehead and Sara Whitehead Sellers.

A Life Celebration will be held on January 14, 2019 at 11am with Brother David Royalty officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Timmy Akins, Corey Richardson, Joe Drake, Jimbo Long, Mac Baggett, Jr. and Steve Allensworth serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2018 from 2-6pm then again on Monday one hour prior to the service.
