ELDER, James H, 83, of Nashville died February 14, 2008 at his home, following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Katie S. Elder of Flint, MI; his son, James Jimmy Tullie Elder of Nashville; and his brother, Charles D. Elder of Midland, MI. James served in the Army Air Corps during War II, 1941-1946. He worked in the printing industry 40 years, relocating in the late 1960s to Tennessee with American Type Founders as a printing press erector. During the 1970s he opened a consulting firm serving printers across the United States and Canada. Mr. Elder was a member of Bellevue Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Underwood; sons, Daniel James, Vidalia, GA; Wade Robert LeeAnn and Larry James, Nashville; Underwood stepsons Ed Camille, David Jackie and Tim Susan, Franklin. Elder grandchildren, Aaron, Clarksville, TN, Heidi, Joel, Jason, Seth, and Katie, Vidalia, GA; Melissa, James, and Tyler, Ashland City; Underwood step-grandchildren Jacob, Jeremiah, Levi, Rachel, Joshua, Alexandra and James, Franklin, TN; Sister-in-law Katherine J. Elder, Flint, MI.; Daughter-in-law, Jeanne Elder, Vidalia, GA. Mr. Elder's family will receive friends from 12 pm until 2:30 pm Saturday with funeral service to follow. The Reverend Meredith Siler will be officiating. Burial will be at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers with the congregation of the Bellevue Christian Church serving as the Honorary pallbearers.
