James Baker

Baker, James Leo, 89, August 28, 2009. Mr. Baker was a Retired Army MSG, WWII Veteran, D Day Veteran and later retired from the VA Hospital in 1980. He also served as an Elder of Pennsylvania Ave. Church of Christ for many years. Preceded in death by wife of 56 years, Decima Alene Batey Baker; son, Larry Baker; brothers, Smith Baker, Robert Baker and sister, Cornelia Williams. Survived by wife, June Darlene Porter Baker; daughter, Linda Hans Deligne, Newnan, GA., granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Ron Woods, Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Alex and Ysabella Woods; special niece, Rebecca David; sisters, Mary Ella Spicer, Irene Hampton; stepsons, David Carolyn Porter, Mark Porter and Russell Rhonda Porter. Service 12 noon, Monday, August 31, 2009 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Baker, Ronnie Williams, Ron Woods, David Porter, Mark Porter and Russell Porter.
