Icey Nash

NASH, Icey Virginia, Age 82 formerly of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston Springs on October 11, 2010 surrounded by her children and anchored by the assurance of eternal life with Jesus Christ. She was born March 8, 1928, the daughter of Nathan Daniel Bishop and Maebell New Bishop. She married Roy Lee Swaggerty, with whom she enjoyed many years of marriage until his time of passing. She then married Bobby R. Nash, Sr. in 1960, with whom she enjoyed 44 years of marriage until his death in 2004. Proceeded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Timmy Nash; granddaughter, Chris Nash; brothers, Daniel Bishop and David Bishop; sisters, Marie Belcher, Ella May St. Clair, Lillie Frady, and Electra Raines. Survived by her children, Joyce Nash, Helen Hollis, Lee Swaggerty, Libby Shelby, Kathy Hopkins, Tony Swaggerty, Robert Nash, Jr., Jennifer Zimmerman, Ronnie Nash, Addie Eaves, Donny Nash and Jeff Nash; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Stella Raines. She will be remembered by her family and many friends for her generosity of spirit, love of country Music Josh Turner, kind nature, love of her guitar and the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in the world. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Eaves officiating. Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
