Emrick, Georgia Ravene went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ in Heaven on Jan. 13, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years Commander Merwin G. (Rick) Emrick, USN who went to be with the Lord in July. Also preceded by mother and father, Martha Flora Flynn and George Winton Whitaker, and by sister Ruth Etter. Survived by loving; son, Stephen G. Emrick; daughter in law, Colleen Emrick; grandsons, Paul (Jennifer) and Robert; granddaughter, Heather Waldron (Joe); great granddaughters, Lillian & Abigail Waldron; sister in law Myrna Ashurst, cousins Linda Flynn, Helen Fox, Earl Flynn plus other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Georgia was known for her high IQ, beauty and youthful appearance. She could have gone to college on scholarship and had a career in any field she chose. However, she chose to be a homemaker and a stay at home mom. It is said that behind every successful man there is a supportive woman. Her husband Rick, became a senior officer in the Navy and an executive with the TN state government with her encouragement and inspiration.

She was also a wonderful mother to her son Stephen. She helped him get a college degree and commercial pilot license. She was a supportive, loving and beloved grandma and great grandma.

On Tuesday January 21, visitation with the family will be held at Granny White Church of Christ, 3805 Granny White Pike, from 11 AM to 12PM to be followed by funeral services with Dr. Dennis Loyd officiating. A private interment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Georgia and Rick were long time members of Granny White Church of Christ.

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family wishes to thank and commend the Willowbrook Hospice team for their extremely professional and loving care during this difficult time.
