Geneva Traughber

Geneva Traughber age 89 of Springfield passed away on May 24, 2020 at NorthCrest Medical Center.

She was born Annie Geneva Drake on April 28, 1931 to the late George Sory and Callie Dawn Davis Drake in Springfield. She was a parishioner of St Michaels Catholic Church.

Geneva married the love of her life, John P. Traughber and they were blessed with five children. She kept the home raising her children. It was always a home full of laughter and love over the years. It did not matter if you were born to her family, married into it, or had the privilege to become acquainted with her, you had the honor of calling this wonderful woman Granny. Granny loved all her family and felt that it was her duty to teach her family to live a moral and respectable life.

Her greatest pleasure was her family, but a close second was watching old westerns with her family and listening to George Strait. She loved to tell stories about going to his concerts while sitting around the kitchen table with her favorite bowl of ice cream.

Granny will be remembered as the corner stone of their family that loved everyone.

In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her husband John P. Traughber and brothers, Kenneth Sory Drake and Earnest L. Drake.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Deborah) Traughber, Donna Spain, Deloris Clark, Tony (Connie) Traughber and Allin (Connie) Traughber; brothers, Leonard D Drake and Jerry M (Debbie) Drake; twelve grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

The family had a private viewing on Monday, May 25th and will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
