Ethel Roberts

Ethel Juanita Howell Roberts, age 81 of Hendersonville passed away July 19, 2010. She was born in Nashville, TN on September 20, 1928. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church where she was the secretary to Bro. Courtney Wilson for 22 years and for Bro. Glenn Weakley for 6 years. Before that, she attended Shelby Ave. Baptist Church in Nashville, TN where she was also secretary for Bro. Richard Lucas for 7 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Percy and Virginia Doyle Howell; sisters, Florence Howell and Melba Howell; and brothers, Joe H. Barr, Sr., Floyd "Jr." Howell, Jr. and James Earl Howell. She is survived by daughters, Pamela Roberts Million, Karen Roberts Bain and Lori Ruth Roberts; grandchildren, Misty Steve Million Sammons, Christopher Jammie Taylor; Angela Jimmy Taylor Cole and Charles Jenna Bain; and great-grandchildren, Aja and Tawny Sammon, Eric and Nina Taylor, and Michael and Hannah Cole. Active pallbearers will be Chris Taylor, Charles Bain, Jimmy Cole, Jimmy Howell, Joe Towe and John Drew Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Randle Davis, Randy Coleman, Conrad Shackleford, Thomas Hooper, Cleland Smith, Norris Davidson, Jeff Lake, Wynton Overstreet, Jane Haynie, Corinne Clark and Elizabeth Hill. Funeral services will be conducted on 11 AM, Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Rev. Courtney Wilson and Rev. Richard Gaia officiating. Burial will be follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 PM and from 6 – 8 PM, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
