Elaine Browning

Elaine Frances Browning, 67, of Centerville and formerly a long time Springfield, TN resident, passed away September 9, 2021. Born September 24, 1953 in Parkersburg, WV, Elaine was the daughter of the late William Dale White and Frances Louise Smith White. She was also preceded in death by her husband John C. Browning. She had retired from the Metro Nashville Police Department where she had worked for many years in the records department. She spent her youth in Parkersburg, moving to Springfield when she was 25. She moved to Springfield to be with and marry John Browning in 1986. She moved to Centerville after her retirement. In her spare time, Elaine enjoyed doing anything craft related. She would sew, knit, crochet and was known to make Christmas ornaments for many family members and friends. Elaine is survived by her son, Jeffrey Scott Browning of Louisville, KY; a sister, Sandra Goodrich; two brothers, James Ross White (Frankie) and Carl William White (Karen); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Springfield Funeral Home Monday September 27, 2021 at 10 am with inurnment at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 9 am until time of the service.
