Douglas Franklin

Douglas Wayne "Doug" Franklin, age 54 of Hendersonville, passed away April 26, 2009. Mr. Franklin had an affinity for Harley Davidsons and enjoyed riding, as well as traveling with his companion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also loved archery. He is survived by his loving companion of 16 years, Sheena McMurtry; his daughters, Amy Eric Wimberly, Shannon Bill Ivie, Shante Tyler Bloomfield, Shantara Franklin and Angela Franklin; his sisters, Sue McKinnon and Phyllis Myatt; his brothers, Willis, Ray and Terry Franklin; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Devin and Cobey Wimberly, Maia and Ashlyn Williams, London and Dane Ivie, Taelor Chang and Emma Bloomfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 11 A.M., Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation with the Franklin family will be held from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Hendersonville Funeral Home. Eric Wimberly, Bill Ivie, Tyler Bloomfield, Andy Franklin, SangTae Chang, Lynn Murray and Randall Barnes will serve as pallbearers. Joey Rollins and Comer Hunter will act as honorary pallbearers.
