Dannie Ray "Pepper" Biggs, 75, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home. Born in Robertson County, March 4, 1946, he was the son of the late Herschel Biggs and Christine Woodard Biggs. Dannie was also preceded in death by a brother, Eldon; and two sisters, Betty and Jean. Raised on the family farm, Dannie learned the value of hard work and developed his dedicated work ethic. In 1985 he opened Biggs Septic Service which he ran for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had also been a member of the Greenbrier Lodge of Masons. Dannie was also hard at work on something, however when he did find an excuse to relax he enjoyed fishing, or watching the western movies he loved. Dannie was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved all the family gatherings. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Knuckles (Timothy); his sons, Dennis Biggs (Elizabeth), Chris Biggs (Robin), and Charlie Biggs (Samantha; 10 grandchildren, Tyler Knuckles, Dalton Knuckles, Wyatt Knuckles, Gracie Knuckles, Kristina Johnson (Randy), Kalli Collins, Kaitlyn Martin, Evelyn Biggs, Elizabeth Biggs, and Charlie Biggs II; 5 great-grandchildren, Kallie Knuckles, McKenzie Knuckles, Layton Knuckles, Hunter Knuckles, and Chloe Knuckles; and his siblings, Russell Biggs, Tommy Biggs, Larry Biggs and Erma Anderson. Visitation will be held at Springfield Funeral Home, Monday from 4 to 7 pm and Tuesday from 12 to 1 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 1 pm followed by interment in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
