Chuck Dickens (aka “Fat Boy”) passed away on July 5, 2021 at his home.
He was born Charles William Dickens on March 11, 1950 to the late James Herbert and Christine Dickens in Gallatin. He married the love of his life on January 16, 1971 and had 50 wonderful years together. Chuck ran Fat Boys Tires in Millersville for 30 years before retiring to spend more time with his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He enjoyed watching wrestling, collecting knifes and ink pens, if you borrowed a pen, he would tell you “Don’t forget where you got it.”
In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Dickens and grandson, Christopher Shadowens.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Dickens; children, Lynn (Phillip) Shadowens and Beverly (Billy) Proctor; grandchildren, Christy (Bobby) Kinslow, Mikey Proctor, Nickey (Cody) Heatherly and Ashley (Justin) Robinson; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Donna) Dickens and Buddy Dickens and two nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2pm with Phillip Shadowens officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
