WALKER, Charlie L. 81 of Hendersonville passed away on September 12, 2008. Mr. Walker became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1967. He loved entertaining, but especially loved his family. Making a big breakfast for his family, cozy fires in the fireplace, golf, hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. He was proud to be a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Shriner and Past Mast of Hendersonville Masonic Lodge #359. He was born on November 2, 1926 in Copeville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie L. and Lillie Mae Walker and brother, Irvin Walker. He is survived by his wife; Connie Walker, sons; Ronnie Rebecca Walker, Charlie Walker III, Charlton Lindsay Walker, daughters; Cindy Marvin Self, Elissa Steve Campbell, Charlene Johnny Pratt, Catherine Tyler Farrar, Christina Phil Garner and Caroline Gary Green, and a stepson; Yoshiya Yoko Watanabe, a stepdaughter; Rae Takahiro Murakami, 20 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 2 – 7pm on Tuesday, September 16, at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, September 17, at Bluegrass Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Tullos and Pastor Paul Frank officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Employees of the Grand Ole Opry. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Walker, Arthur Walker, Charlie Walker III, Marvin Self, Steve Campbell, Yoshiya Watanabe, Johnny Pratt, Tyler Farrar, Phil Garner, Gary Green and Takahiro Murakami. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Al Menah Shrine Children's Hospital @ P.O. Box 78545, Nashville, TN 37207 in memory of Charlie Walker.
