Bill Campbell

Bill Lee Campbell age 87 of Springfield passed away on November 13, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Nashville.

He was born on April 24, 1935, the last of nine children born to Joseph Jackson and Fannie Mae Foster Campbell in Poe, West Virginia. Mr. Campbell served his country as a Paratrooper in the United States Army. After his faithful service and honorable discharge from the Army, he met the love of his life Hazel Campbell, and they were married on March 20, 1959. They were blessed with four children. Over the years they enjoyed many holidays together as a family. Traveling abroad to Belize and visiting their little place on Lake Barkley.

Mr. Campbell was described as a jack of all trades. He worked as dairy farmer during the 80’s, mechanic, handyman but mostly as a HVAC technician for over 40 years. For several years Mr. Campbell was a street preacher ministering to those that needed to hear to word of Christ. He loved to buy houses, remodel them, and turn them into rental homes.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his eight siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Hazel Miller Campbell; children, Rhonda Kilby, Robin (Ryan) Sparkman, Darrell (Lynne) Campbell and Robert (Bekki) Campbell; grandchildren, Andra Cummins, Andrew (Kim) Cummins, Daniel (Ashley) Sparkman, Brooke (Paul) Mast, Faith (Trent) Holman, Rebecca (Robert) Burnett, Rachael (Sam) Newbern, Tyler (Katie) Campbell, Tori (Isaac) Bierman, Robert Campbell and Donnie Campbell; 15 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Life Celebration will be held on Sunday, November 20th at 3pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Frendsley. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service. Burial will follow later at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be sent at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
