YOUNG, Barbara A., age 69 of Nashville, died peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2009. She was born March 21, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Palmer Dobbs; her daughter, Cathy E. Hampton, and her last husband, Leo Young. She is survived by, her loving companion and caregiver, Carlos Murphy; her children, Cynthia Strong, of Nashville; Chip Angelia Duke, of Joelton; Keith Dianna Duke, of Kingston Springs; and Connie Ellis; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sisters, Daphine Billy Davis and Melissa Hoper of Jacksonville, FL; half-brother, Kevin Dobbs, one niece and two nephews. Her body was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 8 at 3:00 P.M. from the Chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank, American Red Cross, or the charity of one's choice.
