Amy McCoy Smith age 43 of Pleasant View passed away on May 16, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Amy was born on April 19, 1977 to the late Robert Allen and Geneva Ruth Kunz McCoy, Sr. in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Hunter's Lane High School in 1995. On July 6, 1996 she married the love of her life, Mark Smith. Together they were blessed with three children, Dakota, Bobby and Dylani.
Amy was described by Dakota as a warrior that fought with courage while keeping her cheerful and funny disposition, often times they would go back and forth on who the real warrior was. Dylani remembered that it was not uncommon to find her Mom dancing in the kitchen, doing cart wheels in the front yard or making one of her most famous "Monkey Face" to encourage laughter throughout their home.
Making memories was important to Amy, from watching the girls play sports, to the families first airplane flight together. Through the Make A Wish Foundation for Bobby, they were able to spend a week in Walt Disney World with Bobby and the girls making memories of a life time.
Some of Amy's favorite places were Cape San Blas, where you would find her under an umbrella reading her bible as the family played in the water, sitting at home taking care of Bobby and doing crafts with Dakota and Dylani, or at Life House Fellowship on Sunday Morning 10am or Wednesday Night Worship at 6:30. Amy inspired others, not only to do their best, but to stay faithful to the Lord and to find happiness in every situation.
Amy will forever be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, loyal sister and a faithful friend to so many.
In addition to her parents, Amy is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Allen McCoy, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Smith; children, Dakota Smith, Bobby Smith and Dylani Smith; sister, Corinne (Ed) Schmidt; brother, Phillip (Jackie Lynn) McCoy; Parents-in-law, David (Jan) Smith and brother-in-law Matt (Ashley) Smith.
A Drive by Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from 6-7pm at Life House Fellowship 223 Gifford PL, Joelton, TN 37080. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donation be made to The Huff Project online at www.thehuffproject.com. The family will have a private graveside service at Ever Rest of Cheatham.
