Amelia "Amy" McKinney, age 61 of Gallatin passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McKinney was an angel to her family who dedicated her life to her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She has courageously battled cancer for the past eight months. She was preceded in death by her father, William Edward Anderton, and brother, Rex Eugene Anderton. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Donald McKinney of Gallatin; mother, Hazel Cobb of Hendersonville; daughters, Tammy Wright of Hendersonville, Shelly McKinney Orren Ronald of Nashville, Malinda Mutersbaugh Rob of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kim Showalter Shawn of Cottontown, Michelle McFarland of Castalian Springs, Donna Chapman Kelly of White House, Tonya Savary John of Goodlettsville; grandchildren, Blake Wright, Samantha Wright, Rhiannon Cisco, Jessica Averette, Amanda Poe, Alisa Niles, Cara Niles, Calab Mutersbaugh, Ashly Showalter, Tiffany Showalter, Cody McKinney, Faith McFarland, Joseph McFarland, Shantee Norman, Brittany Norman, Kara Norman, Kayla Norman, Melinda Herman, Crystal Kondus, Andrew Chapman, Emily Stone, and Allison Savary; great grandchildren, Mark David Cisco, Madison Cisco, Kirsten Averette, Lucus Averette, Hunter Herman, Matthew Kondus; brothers, Clyde Anderton Janice of Castalian Springs, and Ronnie Anderton Honey of Pegram. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Abshire officiating. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens at Crestview. Roy McMurtry, Ronald Orren, and Kelly Chapman will serve as honorary pallbearers. Cody McKinney, Blake Wright, Derek Bennett, Andrew Chapman, Nick Poe, Chris Averette, David Cisco, and Shawn Showalter will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Monday, September 8 at 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and will resume on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. until service time.
