Allen Arms

Allen Arms, age 37 of Springfield passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 with his family surrounding him at his mother’s home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on September 15, 1983 at Jesse Holman Jones Hospital in Springfield to Ralph and Frances Arms.  Allen worked for many years a plumber and helping anyone that needed it.

When Allen wasn’t working you could find him floating the river and john boat fishing with his pride and joy Blake. They spent many weekends just the two of them antiquing looking for collector coins, baseball cards, tools and retro stickers. They would catch lunch at their favorite restaurant Red Lobster especially when it was Endless Shrimp Days before renting a moving and heading back to the house. His world was built around Blake and the times they spent together tinkering in his shop or junking scrap metal on the weekends.

Allen was a good son, loving father and wonderful friend and everyone will miss him.

Allen is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Arms, Sr., grandparents, Virginia Mason and Adabelle and Clyde Arms and uncle Kenneth Arms.

He is survived by his son, Blake Allen Arms and his mother, Lindsey Shutt; mother Frances Arms, siblings, Glenn (Tammy) Arms, Jo (Johnny) Chapman, Misty (Anthony) Wix and Ginger (Jason) Furr; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; uncle, Alvin (Donna) Armes and Donald Mason and aunt Deb (Don) McEwing.

A Life Celebration will be conducted on Friday at 2pm at Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12-2pm at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
