Sandra Dianne Beach of Greenbrier passed peacefully from the arms of her children, grandchildren, and pastor into the arms of Jesus on August 9, 2022, at the Arbors at Springfield Heights. She was born March 23, 1944, in Nashville, TN to the late Sam David and Ellen Madelle Strong.
Mrs. Sandra was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She retired from Textron Aerostructures in Nashville. After retirement, Mrs. Sandra worked for Springhouse Golf Shop at the Opryland Hotel and Burdett’s Tea Shop. It was a joy for her to serve others.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. Mrs. Sandra loved her cats, her friends, neighbors, and Duke basketball. She had many talents and enjoyed craft projects and sewing. She was an excellent cook as well, growing up in her parents’ restaurant. Mrs. Sandra was a strong woman and is a 24-year Breast Cancer Survivor.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, R.T. Matthews, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Amanda (Cliff) Horn of Greenbrier, David (Christy) Mayes of Springfield and Amelia (Richard) Clark of Goodlettsville, by grandchildren, Clifton (Stephanie) Horn, Ethan Horn, Cameron Clark (Laela Truelove), Savannah Mayes (Noah Harrington) and great granddaughter Ansleigh Horn, by sister-in-law Peggy Mayes and many caring friends.
A private family memorial will be held at her request. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenbrier United Methodist Church or the United Methodist Women in memory of Mrs. Sandra.
