Marvin E. Carter, Jr. age 55 of Springfield passed away on January 1, 2021 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
He was born on April 1, 1965 in Madison, TN to Mary Ann Carter and the late Marvin E. Carter, Sr. Chip was a 1983 graduate of Madison High School and soon found his niche in life woodworking and mechanics. If he could get his hands on it, he could usually fix anything. Chip enjoyed fishing at J. Percy Priest Dam. Some of the family's favorite memories were time spent out on the lake fishing, Chip coaching Kelsie's softball team or just sitting in his truck listening to AC/DC. Memories like these will be shared for years to come.
Chip is preceded in death by his dad, Marvin E. Carter, Sr.; sister, Alisa Cardin and brother-in-law, Jackie Broadrick.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Nicki Carter; children, Kelsie Carter, Austin Carter, Olivia Metcalf, Kamaron Bush and Caleb Bush; grandchildren, Jeston Rigsby and Cora Rigsby; mother, Mary Ann Carter; sisters, Sheryl (Wayne) Gentry and Sylvia Broadrick and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 4pm in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4pm. Online condolences can be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com
